This is the biggest “portable” Bluetooth speaker I’ve seen – it weights 1.5kg and packs a punch with every gram. The Braven brand is growing from strength to strength in this wireless speaker market and their quality and sound shouldn’t be overlooked.
The Water resistance of the BRV-1 was so appealing to me we’ve had one in our bathroom ever since my first review. Sometimes it’s better to sing along in the shower not just sing:)
So what do you do with something that is just massively bigger than that little beast. You use it outdoors – this 855s has so much sound you could keep a whole party entertained and certainly have a great soundtrack when you’re out camping or at the beach.
At $399 you’re going to want to keep an eye on it though.
It’s pumping out an amazing 20W of sound from a speaker that is 24cm wide, 10cm tall and 7cm deep.
The rubberised packaging makes it feel quite durable, and as I’ve mentioned it’s water-resistant (IPX3). We’re talking aircraft-grade aluminium on the great looking grill and on the inside you’ve got enough battery to charge devices while it’s going.
Grab another 855s or an 850 from Braven and you can pair them up for left and right stereo sound.
Fantastic deep and crisp sound at all levels makes this a product at the head of its class. Well worth a look – and listen.
